Description

Another old school hotrod motor we built recently, for a one-family-owned Sea Blue ’64 Beetle. This one uses a numbers-matching 40hp case, opened up for 85.5 pistons and cylinders, a counterweighted 74mm crank, single port heads, a mild cam, dual Kadrons, and an Abarth-style exhaust. This 1699cc motor made 92hp and 115 ft-lbs on the dyno at @roth_vintage and is a blast to drive. We also re-geared the transmission and put disk brakes on the front of the car, among other things.
